Norsk ordre på verdens første batteridrevne rorofærger til autonom drift

Tersan Shipyard i Tyrkiet har modtaget en skibsbygningsordre fra den norske færgeoperatør Fjord1 AS på fire batteridrevne autonome roro-færger, som angiveligt skulle være verdens første af sin slags.

De nye færger vil ifølge værftet og Fjord! "revolutionere kysttransporten ved at kombinere effektivitet, sikkerhed og innovation".

Færgerne skal indsættes på ruten mellem Lavik og Oppedal i Norge fra den 1. september 2026.

Ifølge Fjord1 vil færgerne blive udstyret med autonom navigation og en høj grad af automatisering af skibsfunktioner som erstatning for det manuelle arbejde.

Implementeringen af automatiseringsfunktioner og autonome systemer, herunder autocrossing og autodocking, vil efter planen ske i 2027, mens autonom navigation vil blive implementeret i 2028.

Tersan samarbejdede med Fjord1 i 2021, hvor det tyrkiske skibsværft blev valgt til at bygge to miljøvenlige batteridrevne søsterfærger til den norske operatør. Før dette leverede Tersan Shipyard seks helt elektriske færger til Fjord1.
