SAL udvikler nye heavy lift skibe

Det tyske specialrederi SAL Heavy Lift har sammen med sin partner, hollandske Jumbo Shipping, udviklet en ny serie af projektlastskibe, Orca Class, med en kapacitet på 14.600 DWT. Rederierne har kontraheret fire skibe af den nye klasse.

De 150 meter lange og 27 meter brede heavy lift skibe er udstyret med to 800 tons Liebherr kraner, der har et tandemløft på 1.600 tons.

Skibene, der har en servicefart på 15 knob, er bygget til isklasse 1A.

Orca klasse skibene, der har dual fuel fremdrift, er kontraheret på Wuhu værftet i Kina, og kontrakten indeholder ud over de fire skibe også en option på yderligere to tilsvarende skibe.

De to første skibe vil blive leveret i midten af 2024.
