Video: Berømt krydstogtskibs sidste rejse

For 30 år siden var Monarch et af de største og mest luksuriøse krydstogtskibe i verden. Bygget på Chantiers de l'Atlantique skibsværftet i Saint Nazaire for Royal Caribbean under navnet Monarch of the Seas - med plads til 2.700 passagerer.

Den 22. juli var krydstogtskibets sejladser på de syv verdenshave forbi. Det ankom til Aliaga i Tyrkiet for ophugning, og blev straks sejlet på land.

De tyrkiske værftsarbejde skal nu omdanne det 74.000 GT store krydstogtskib til skrot, hvilket sikker ikke vil tage længe. En epoke er slut.
