Stella Shipping offers stocks worth millions
SHIPPING: Because the Marstal shipping company Stella Shipping has started off really well with a profit of DKK 10 million post taxes in the first annual account, the shipping company is now changing to limited and invites new investors to join.
"We have of course not been untouched by the financial crisis, but contrary to other companies who are reefing the sails at the moment, we chose to go up a gear in order for us to handle new challenges", says chair of the board Jan Fabricius to Fyns Amts Avis.
The shipping company is running two dry cargo ships but the aim is 10 ships in 2011. The last eight ships are between 3.000 and 4.000 tonnes and are already contracted in Bangladesh.
Jan Fabricius points out to the newspaper that the stock expansion is happening now partly because it is time to strengthen the company and partly because he and the board think that the timing is perfect with the large drop in ship prices all over the world.
After the change to limited company, the net capital of Stella Shipping will be approx. DKK 70 million.
