Esbjerg Shipyard udvider på Esbjerg Havn

Esbjerg Shipyard, der er ejet af Granly Gruppen, investerer i en ny dok og en ny stor produktionsbygning, der skal være med til at trække nye ordrer til. Værftet mener, at vindmøllefartøjer kan blive et nyt forretningsområde.

”2015 var et af de travleste år som vi har haft for dokninger i vores gamle dok. Vi investerer, fordi der kommer et behov for supplybåde til Horns Rev og andre vindaktiviteter i Nordsøen. Vi betragter flydedokken som et stykke værktøj. Hvis vi har flydedokken, vil der muligvis være motorarbejde, smedearbejde og hydraulikarbejder”, siger Kim Junk, økonomidirektør i Granly Gruppen.

Granly Gruppen investerer også i større produktionsfaciliteter. Blandt andet er seafastning-segmentet, dvs. transportudstyr til skibe, der fragter vindmølledele ud til havmølleparker, et område i vækst.

”Vi konstaterede, at vi tidligere har været nødt til at pille gavlen ned, når store emner eller skibe skal ud af de nuværende fabrikshaller”, siger Kim Junk.

Esbjerg Shipyard har en kapacitet på 120 meter i længden og 19,5 meter i bredden samt en dybgang på 6 meter.
