Aarhus Havn får millioner til landstrøm fra EU

Aarhus Havn får sammen med tre andre havne i Europa bevilget 18,8 mio. euro fra EU gennem programmet Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) til etablering af landstrøm for containerskibe.

Det er ud over Aarhus Havn også havnene i Bremerhaven, Göteborg og Stockholm, der vil modtage støttemidlerne forud for EU-regler, der fra 2030 vil kræve, at skibe på over 5.000 gt skal være tilsluttet landstrøm, når de ligger i havn.

“Vi er meget glade for, at EU Kommissionen og CEF komiteen anerkender vores høje ambitionen for den grønne omstilling. Som nogle af Europas vigtigste havne er det fantastisk, at vi kan samarbejde om at reducere shippingindustriens klimaaftryk, hvilket er en global udfordring, vi står over for.   Landstrøm til containerskibe er en afgørende del for alle involverede havne,” siger Anne Zachariassen, der er COO i Aarhus havn og projektkoordinator for EU.OPS. netværket.

I Göteborg estimerer havnemyndigheder, at landstrøm til containerskibe kan spare udledningen af 5.600 tons CO2 årligt.
