Wärtsilä køber L-3 Marine Systems

Wärtsilä opkøber L-3 Marine Systems International fra L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. Handlen er på 285 millioner EUR med forbehold for sædvanlige justeringer og inklusiv en vurderet reduktion på 60 millioner EUR for medarbejderpensionsrelaterede forhold som formodes overtaget af Wärtsilä

L-3 Marine Systems International (L-3 MSI) er en enhed under L-3’s Electronic Systems og fokuserer primært på den kommercielle skibsindustri. Finansiering af handlen kommer fra eksisterende kontantressourcer og kreditfaciliteter. Overtagelsen er betinget af godkendelse fra myndighederne og forventes afsluttet i løbet af andet kvartal 2015.

L-3 MSI har hovedkontor i Hamburg, Tyskland og beskæftiger over 1.700 medarbejdere fordelt på 38 lokationer i 14 lande.

L-3 MSI leverer automation, navigation og elektriske systemer samt dynamisk positionsteknologi og sonar- og undervandskommunikationsteknologi til marine-, flåde- og offshore-markederne.

Virksomheden indtager en førende position på markederne for hhv. cruise, færge og store containerskibe. L-3 MSI’s portefølje indbefatter forskellige produktbrands, bl.a. SAM Electronics, L-3 Valmarine, Lyngsø Marine, L-3 Dynamic Positioning & Control Systems, Jovyatlas Euroatlas, L-3 Elac Nautik, Funa og APSS.
