Video af terrorangreb mod containerskib

En ukendt egyptisk gruppe har lagt en video, der angiveligt viser angrebet på containerskibet Cosco Asia i Suez Kanalen lørdag i sidste uge, på internettet På billederne, der er digitalt slørede, ser man en mand der affyrer en granat mod skibet.

De egyptiske myndigheder har været meget sparsomme med oplysninger om angrebet, der karakteriseres som et terrorangreb.

Ingen mennesker kom til skade ved angrebet, og ud fra videoen at dømme skete der også kun minimal skade på skibet. Granaten blev affyret fra den samme type raketstyr som ofte er blevet anvendt af somaliske pirater ved angreb på handelsskibe.

Det egyptiske politi oplyser, at de har anholdt tre mænd der sættes i forbindelse md angrebet på Cosco Asia. Ifølge politiet var motivet til angrebet at skade Egyptens image i omverdenen, og ramme den egyptiske økonomi.

Indtægterne fra den 192 kilometer lange kanal er en af landets hovedindtægtskilder.
