Ungdommen ser på en maritim fremtid

Virksomhederne MarineShaft og Hirtshals Yard får på mandag mulighed for at tegne fremtiden for en del af Nordjyllands ungdom, når 80 elever fra 8.-10. klasse i Hjørring Kommune og Hjørring Produktionsskole besøger virksomhederne som et arrangement i forbindelse med Danish Maritime Days.

”Interessen for at deltage i arrangementet har været overvældende, så vi har desværre måttet sætte en begrænsning på antallet af elever, der kan deltage. Det er jo glædeligt, at ungdommen er så interesseret i at se de muligheder, der ligger inden for de såkaldte sorte erhverv i Nordjylland, og dermed se, hvilke beskæftigelsesmuligheder fremtiden rummer for dem”, siger Mogens Bjerre, næstformand i Dansk Metal Vendsyssel og medlem af Hirtshals Havns bestyrelse.

”Der er flere perspektiver i at invitere fremtidens arbejdskraft ned på havnen for at besøge MarineShaft og Hirtshals Yard. Vi skal sikre, at vi også i fremtiden har den arbejdskraft, der er behov for hos virksomhederne i Nordjylland, og derfor er det vigtigt, at vi styrker den interesse, som nogle unge allerede har for at arbejde med maritim service og offshoreaktiviteter, og om muligt få endnu flere gjort interesserede i fagene”, tilføjer han.
