Stort vindmølleprojekt til Australien

Blue Water Shipping har indgået en stor aftale i forbindelse med transporten af 140 kæmpevindmøller fra Danmark til Australien. Blue Water Shipping skal arrangere transporten fra Esbjerg, Danmark til Macarthur i delstaten Victoria i det sydøstlige Australien.

"Dette er Blue Water Shippings første store vindmølleprojekt i Australien. Vi har opbygget stor international ekspertise inden for vindmølletransport, og dette projekt er med til at styrke vores globale position. Vi forventer en markant stigning i antallet af vindmølleprojekter de kommende år", siger Kurt Skov, adm. dir. og grundlægger af Blue Water Shipping.

Logistikopgaven løses af Blue Water Shipping i partnerskab med det australske transportfirma Noske Logistics. Mens Blue Water Shipping sørger for lastning og afskibning fra Danmark skal den australske samarbejdspartner sørge for losning i havnen Portland i Victoria og den efterfølgende lastbiltransport på godt 100 kilometer til Macarthur, hvor man er i gang med at opføre Australiens største vindmøllepark.

Ordren udspringer af en aftale med et australsk konsortium bestående af Vestas og Leighton Contractors, der er en af Australiens største entreprenørvirksomheder.

Der er tale om 140 Vestas-møller af typen V112, som er Vestas største kommercielle vindmølle på 3,0 MegaWatt.

Det er en krævende transportopgave, da vingerne har en længde på 55 meter, og møllehusene (nacellerne) vejer 125 tons.

Opgaven koordineres af Blue Water Shippings kontor i Singapore, der sammen med kontoret i Shanghai betjener vindmølleprojekter i Sydøstasien, Kina og Stillehavsregionen. Transporten af de 140 vindmøller begyndte i september og afsluttes medio 2012.

Den første sending møller ankom til Portland 7. november og losningen var færdig 11. november.
