Maersk Drilling receives new jackup rig
OFFSHORE: The Singaporean shipyard Keppel FELS has delivered the third of four new high efficiency jackup rigs to Maersk Drilling. At a gathering at the shipyard, the new rig was named Maersk Resolve.

The new jackup has a maximum operating depth of 350 feet and is suitable for drilling deep, high temperature/ high-pressure wells of 30,000 feet.
The first rig in the series, Maersk Resilient, was delivered in February 2008 and is today working for Dubai Petroleum Establishment off the coast of Dubai. The second rig, Maersk Resolute, was delivered in August 2008 and is on a 3-year contract with Dong Energy for operations in the Danish part of the North Sea.
Maersk Resolve leaves the shipyard on the 3rd of February heading for the North Sea where a two-year contract, with possible extension, with Maersk Oil awaits.
The fourth and last rig in the series is expected to be delivered from the shipyard during the 2nd quarter of this year.
