Onsdag satte krydstogtskibet Braemer, der tilhører Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, ny rekord for passage af den 24 meter brede Korinth Kanal i Grækenland. Ved hjælp af dygtigt sømandskab lykkedes det besætningen at styre det 22,5 meter brede krydstogtskib helskindet gennem kanalen.
Korinth Kanalen, der forbinder Gulf of Corinth med Saronic Gulf, blev allerede udtænkt i romertiden, men først færdiggjort 1893.

Genco afviser forhøjet tilbud fra Diana Shipping
Det børsnoterede tørlastreder Genco afviser et nyt forhøjet tilbud fra græske Diana Shipping, om at indløse Gencos aktier til en kurs på 23,50 dollars pr. aktie. Afvisningen begrundes på ny med, at indløsningskursen undervurderer Gencos sande værdi.

Vind og is generer færgedriften
Onsdag blæser det kraftigt over det meste af landet og det går ud over færgedriften flere steder. Således er alle afgange mellem Søby og Fåborg aflyst. Det samme gælder bl.a. færgerne til Endelave og Tunø. Barsøfærgen får også en ordentlig vippetur.
