Hafnia vil undersøge mulighederne for vind-fremdrift på nye fartøjer

Tankrederiet Hafnia vil undersøge mulighederne for at installere rotorsejl på fire nye dual-fuel metanol tankskibe, som rederiet har i ordre på et kinesisk værft.

Som så mange andre rederier arbejder Hafnia på at reducere CO2-udledningen og de fire nye skibe er et skridt på denne vej.

Det første skib i serien er sat til levering i januar 2025 efter en række succesfulde testsejladser.

Nu evaluerer Hafnia flere muligheder for at reducere skibene klima-aftryk - herunder installationen af rotorsejl.

Skibene vil også blive udstyret til fremtidige landstrømsforbindelser med dedikerede områder i maskinrummet til at rumme transformersektioner til højspændingsstrøm fra land, afhængigt af infrastrukturkapacitet i havne, skriver Offshore Energy.
