Eitzen Bulk in multi-million dollar deal
Eitzen Bulk Shipping, has reached an agreement with ThyssenKrupp Slab International B.V., , for the transportation of about 50 million metric tons of steel slabs from Brazil to USA and Europe, over a period of 11 years

The contract will commence in the fourth quarter of 2010 and expire in third quarter of 2021. The steels slabs will be transported by a combination of Panamax and Supramax carriers. The commitment is equivalent to approximately 30,000 vessel days and revenue is expected to be approximately 727 million dollar.
"With this significant contract, we continue our strategic focus on long term partnerships with large industrial clients, such as ThyssenKrupp. This will allow us to continue expanding our relationship with shipyards and ship owners, who are also thinking long term", says Axel C. Eitzen, Eitzens Chairman of Board.
During the last few years Eitzen Bulk Shipping has secured substantial long term contracts, while simultaneously entering into contracts for 16 new vessels to be constructed at Japanese
shipyards.
