APM Terminals ekspanderer i Indien

APM Terminals vil øge sine aktiviteter i Indien ved at tilføre nye faciliteter til de syv eksisterende terminaler i landet. APM Terminals skriver i en pressemeddelelse, at det indenlandske containerlogistikmarked i Indien anslås at ville overstige 3,5 milliarder dollars i 2013.

”Mere end halvdelen af Indiens indenlandske containertrafik bliver transporteret på lastbil, med mindre end 40 procent flyttet af jernbane, trods udfordrende vejforhold. Inden for sådant et miljø er ekspertise på disse områder blevet endnu mere værdifuldt for Indiens import - og eksportsamfund, noterer direktør for APM Terminals Inland Services for Sydasien og direktør for APM Terminals India Subhasis Ghosh.

APM Terminals India har for nylig påbegyndt nye projekter ved Pipavav og Cochin. Selskabet opererer i forvejen faciliteter syv forskellige steder i Indien, der i 2012 håndterede omkring en million TEU.

"Vi anerkender Inland Services som et særligt vigtigt element i det indiske højvækst marked, og vi vil løbende undersøge investerings - og ekspansionsmuligheder", siger APM Terminals adm. direktør Kim Fejfer.
