Aarhus tager imod Hamburgs invitation

Forleden rakte Hamburg Havn hånden ud til et tættere samarbejde med Aarhus Havn efter, at der har været rejst kritik af, at Hamburg Havn lader for mange containere blive transporteret med lastbil ind over den dansk-tyske grænse, når man nu i stedet kan sende dem med skib til eksempelvis Aarhus. For Hamburg Havn ønsker ikke at tage noget fra Aarhus. Den melding er man positiv overfor i Aarhus.

”Vi har en del interessesammenfald, eksempelvis har vi begge en interesse i at få mere gods ud på søen. Så jeg ser det som en oplagt mulighed, at vi ligeledes tager kontakt til Hamburg Havn for at udforske de muligheder, der måtte være for samarbejde. En mulighed kunne være opbygning af et stærkt feedernetværk ud af Hamburg. Det er der allerede, men det kan måske udbygges yderligere”, siger Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen, havnedirektør ved Aarhus Havn til maritimedanmark.dk om samarbejdet med Hamburg Havn.

”Jeg synes faktisk, at det er synd og skam, at så mange lastbiler bliver sendt ud på motorvejen og skaber trængsel”, forklarer han og mener, at det i stedet er en oplagt mulighed at sejle containerne tættere til slutdestinationen, så turen med lastbil bliver kortere. Det giver alt i alt mindre trængsel på vejnettet.

Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen understreger, at havnene i Aarhus og Hamburg er hinandens gode kollegaer og, at Aarhus Havn ser meget positivt på Hamburg Havns invitation til samarbejde.
