Verdens kraftigste cutter suction dredger

Det hollandske værft Royal IHC Shipyard i Krimpen aan den Ijssel er gået i gang med at bygge verdens største og kraftigste cutter suction dredger, der vil være i stand til at arbejde på havdybder på op til 45 meter.

Der er den belgiske ingeniørgruppe DEME der har kontraheret skibet, der er udstyret med en samlet maskinkraft på 44.180 kW, hvilket gør den i stand til at uddybe hurtigere end noget tidligere skib.

Det 164-meter lange skib er samtidig den første cutter suction dredger der er bygget til dual-fuel drift.

Det nye skib, der vil blive navngivet Spartacus, vil blive leveret næste år.
