Unifeeder in new strategic partnership
SHIPPING: Unifeeder has signed a strategic partnership agreement with its long-standing Italian agent, Thos.Carr & Son. By including Italy in its dense shortsea network, Unifeeder has created Northern Europe's largest and most complete shortsea network.
The strategy of both parties is to expand their combined product portfolio and through this attract more customers and volume.
By entering into the strategic partnership agreement with Genoa-based Thos.Carr, Unifeeder is taking further steps to incorporate the Italian market in its extensive European shortsea network. This will broaden the shortsea multimodal opportunities for the Italian market.
By signing the contract, Thos.Carr is now an integrated part of Unifeeder's network, enjoying full access to Unifeeder's entire schedule and comprehensive coverage of the North European markets as well as being fully integrated with Unifeeder's IT systems, and will thus prove a strong partner to Unifeeder on the Italian market.
"The new partnership presents a solid base for developing Unifeeder's shortsea product and we have great expectations of a substantial increase of our market share in Italy. We have been working on the Italian market for the past 12 years but with Italy now being a fully integrated part of Unifeeder's product range, we believe that the customers will benefit from a wider span of transport solutions", says Simon H. Galsgaard, Director of Unifeeder's Shortsea Service.
"We are extremely pleased with our cooperation with Unifeeder - we are glad that we can take it to a new level", says Mr Mario Magillo, CEO, Thos.Carr.
By including Italy in its dense shortsea network, Unifeeder has created Northern Europe's largest and most complete shortsea network, serving more than 35 ports with several weekly calls.
