As a Technical Project Manager you will bring together your engineering insights with a commercial perspective, guiding projects from the concept phase into execution, developing effective partnerships and providing solutions that produce substantial business value. All of this in an international, engaging and forward-thinking environment.

On behalf of NORDEN, MARPRO Group is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join their Logistics team in Copenhagen. In this role, you will play a key role in designing and pricing innovative transshipment solutions, working closely with both the commercial and technical team. You will report to the Head of Logistics in NORDEN.

The job

You will be at the heart of making complex shipping operations work smoothly. In practical terms, your role is about designing solutions that allow ships, such as Panamax vessels, to carry out operations they are not normally equipped for. This could include implementing cranes, conveyor belts or other fixed equipment.

You will collaborate closely with the commercial team to create and price these innovative transshipment solutions, ensuring that each operation is both technically sound and commercially viable.

Day to day, you will manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will coordinate with shipyards, suppliers, site managers, shipowners, classification societies and authorities, to ensure projects run smoothly. This involves keeping communication clear, solving problems as they arise and making sure all parties are aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

On the technical side, you will be involved in conversions, retrofits and new building projects. Your teamwork guarantees that projects are carried out safely, efficiently and effectively, even in challenging locations.

You will also be responsible for project budgets, timelines and resource planning, ensuring that projects stay on track and meet commercial objectives. This position allows you to observe how your contributions directly influence NORDEN’s operations, integrating technical knowledge with commercial awareness to provide effective solutions in the international shipping sector.

You should expect some travel activity as part of this role, to visit vessels, shipyards and ports, as well as to meet with suppliers and stakeholders.

Professional qualifications

Personal characteristics

  • Skilled in addressing challenges and negotiating effectively

  • Innovative and commercially minded, with a focus on practical operational solutions
