Stor konference om søfarendes velfærd
København er den 14. april vært for en stort international konference om de søfarendes velfærd. Målet er at samle en række centrale aktører, fra rederier, fagforeninger, velfærds- organisationer og havne, der beskæftiger sig med velfærdsspørgsmål.
Søfarendes velfærd er blevet et vigtigt emne - i lyset af det stigende antal søfolk der holdes til fange af pirater, den forestående ratificering af konventionen om søfarendes arbejdsforhold og problemerne med at rekruttere og fastholde søfarende.
Konferencen arrangeres af The International Committee on Seafarersʼ Welfare / ICSW, der er en international NGO med støtte fra International Shipping Federation, International Transport Workers Federation og International Christian Maritime Association.
Søren Philip Sørensen, der er direktør for Handelsflådens Velfærdsråd, er formand for ICSW
Seminaret finder sted torsdag den 14. april 2011 i Danmarks Rederiforening, Amaliegade 33, København i tidsrummet 9 til 17.
