St. Christophers sidste sejlads

Efter 47 travle år på havet har Standby fartøjet St. Christopher sejlet sine sidste sømil. Det foregik, som det ses på billedet herover, uden brug af egen motorkraft - og med skrotningsværftet Fornæs i Grenå som slutmål. Den mangeårige indsats på verdenshavene skete under mange navne og flag – med det nuværende navn og New Zealandsk flag som de sidste.

St. Christopher blev bygget på Rosslauer Schiffswerft i Tyskland tilbage i 1973 under navnet Jokar. Det var oprindelig et fragtskib, men blev senere ombygget til vagtskib. Det har bl.a. har sejlet for Viking Supply Ships.

St Christopher er 49 meter lang og 10 meter bred. Tonnage 584 DWT.
