In the first phase MOW will be looking to recruit for various key positions to assist with New Build operational Familiarization and Commissioning of equipment and vessels systems.

The newbuilding team will be tasked with development of operational procedures and manuals, task plans and risk assessments for the unit’s operational processes.

Along with the tasks at the building yard, the team will be attending a range of courses relevant to the operation of the Wind Turbine Installation Vessel.

In the following phases, more crew positions will follow, and we expect to have the full marine crew in the course of 2025.

Candidates with experience from the offshore industry, Offshore Wind Turbine Installation projects, Construction vessels, new build commissioning, planned maintenance systems, spare parts and procedures will be preferred.

Key responsibilities 

The Second Officer will participate in the day to day running of the Wind Turbine Installation Vessel and the ongoing project activities. The vessel’s operations consist of the installation of bottom-fixed offshore wind turbines, while articulated tugs and barges ferry the turbine components out to the installation site.

Whilst in operation, the Second officer will be responsible to support the Master and Chief Officers in all relevant duties such as Watchkeeping, bridge watches, participate in RA’s & TBT’s, care and correction of charts and nautical publications held on board, maintenance of all navigational equipment and instruments including routine function tests, care and maintenance of the ship’s equipment, flags and navigation lights, actively take part in the maintenance of the Safety Management System in cooperation with the HSSEQ department and motivate the crew to maintain and improve on safety standards.

To be considered for a position as Second Officer in Maersk Offshore Wind, MOW will be looking below operational experience and certification. 

  • Eligible for US visa.
  • Capable to attend underwater HUET training.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as 2nd Officer on the maritime energy Industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Commitment to safety
  • DP systems knowledge and experience at trouble shooting level
  • Experience in jack-up operations is not necessarily required but desired and should be a plus for applications.

You fulfil the below minimum requirements. 

  • Certificate of Competency - STCW Reg. II/1
  • GMDSS GoC
  • STCW Basic Training
  • DP operator certificate
  • Danish seafarer medical certification or equivalent.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination

Below education/courses is an advantage but not a requirement.

  • HLO
  • CAA
  • GWO Basic Safety Training (for wind energy)
  • HUET – Opito Approved
  • CA EBS
  • Jacking Training Course
  • In Charge of Medical Care
