Scandlines improve on Gedser-Rostock
Preliminary traffic figures from 2012 indicate that Scandlines has managed to turn the tide of their development. It is particularly the Gedser - Rostock route that shows progress. The company has, however, had a slight decrease on Helsingør - Helsingborg, while Rødby - Puttgarden shows stable numbers.
"Now it begins to flatten out. It suggests that we are to reverse the curve", says CEO Søren Poulsgaard Jensen at Scandlines on the basis of the preliminary traffic figures.
On the Rødby-Puttgarden crossing traffic figures have remained stable. The Gedser-Rostock route had an increase of 5.1 percent cars in 2012 compared to 2011. It has gone back a little on the Helsingør-Helsingborg crossing.
Scandlines also operate Border Shop in respectively Rostock and Puttgarden. The business in Puttgarden delivered a solid performance in 2012, while Rostock is said to have a profit. Overall, the two Border Shops have a revenue of around DKK 1 billion.
