Offshore supportskibe står til at tabe stort

Ruslands præsident Vladimir Putin har rejst alvorlig tvivl om, hvorvidt et stort gasrørledningsprojekt i Sortehavet kan blive til noget. Som det ser ud nu, vil 12 offshore support-skibe (OSV’er) miste indtægter for 91 millioner dollar, som de ellers var sikre på at få via det såkaldte ”South Stream”-projekt.

”Vi mener, at under de nuværende omstændigheder kan Rusland ikke fortsætte med realiseringen af dette projekt”, sagde Vladimir Putin ifølge BBC under et besøg i Tyrkiet i denne uge.

Bestyrelsesformand Aleksej Miller for det statslige russiske gasselskab Gazprom, der har stået for projektet, var mere direkte: ”Projektet er lukket”, sagde han.

EU-Kommissionen har dog udtalt, at projektet på ingen måde er skrinlagt og sagtens kan fortsætte.

De 12 OSV’er tilhører fire skibsredere, herunder John Frederiksen og A.P. Møller-Mærsk, og det kommer ovenpå, at ni OSV’er i denne uge har fået annulleret kontrakter. Skibsmæglere mener, at mindst 14 ud af disse i alt 21 OSV’er vil blive tvunget til at kæmpe for at få kontrakter i Nordsøen, som er et marked, der allerede er under stort pres og er præget af lave udnyttelsesgrader.
