Oasis of the Seas squeezed under bridge
The world's largest cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas, at midnight Saturday, successfully squeezed under the Great Belt Bridge, between the two Danish islands Sealand and Funen, The cruise liner had to lower its telescopic smokestacks to get under the bridge

The Oasis of the Seas passed below the Great Belt Bridge at 0018 local time, on its maiden voyage to Florida.
Hundreds of Danes gathered on both ends of the bridge, to enjoy the spectacular sight in the cold clear night.
Both the cruise ship and the bridge were brightly lit, making the scene even more dramatic.

Even though the cruise ship had lowered its telescopic smokestacks, there were less than a 2-foot from the top of the ship to the bridge.
Oasis of the Seas was built by STX Finland for Royal Caribbean International, and is now on its maiden voyage to its homeport Port Everglades, Florida.
The 1.5 billion dollar ship has 2.700 cabins and can accommodate 6.300 passengers and 2.100 crew members. The cruise ship is 40 pct. bigger than the second largest cruise ship in the world.
