Nyt fradrag kan sikre olie- og gasprojekter

Culzean-feltet i den britiske del af Nordsøen, som Maersk Oil er operatør på, vil sandsynligvis være blandt de første til at få et nyt fradrag, som Storbritannien har vedtaget. Fradraget gives til investeringer i uHPHT (ultra High Pressure, High Temperature) og ventes at sikre fremtidige olie- og gasprojekter i den britiske del af Nordsøen.

”Fradraget støtter udviklingen af Culzean – en vigtig bidragyder til Storbritanniens fremtidige energiforsyningssikkerhed – og støtter også den potentielle etablering af en ny udviklingsklynge i den omgivende region. Fradragets udformning kan utvivlsomt spille en rolle for fortsat at tilskynde virksomheder såsom Maersk Oil og sine samarbejdspartnere til at maksimere udvindingen fra den britiske kontinentalsokkel”, siger Jakob Thomasen, adm. direktør for Maersk Oil.

Det ventes, at Culzean-feltet kan bidrage med fem procent af det samlede britiske gasforbrug fra 2020/21. Maersk Oil, der er operatør på feltet, har en andel på 49,99 procent, mens JX Nippon har 34,01 procent og Britoil har 16 procent. Beboelsesplatformen vil have kapacitet til mere end 100 personer, og vanddybden er 88 meter. Selve reservoiret er placeret cirka 4.300 meter under havets overflade.
