Nye shuttletanker til Lauritzen Offshore

Lauritzen Offshore har taget levering af Dan Sabia, som er det andet af to identiske dobbeltskrogede 59.000 DTW DP2 shuttletankskibe, bygget på Cosco Nangtong skibsværftet i Kina

Nybygningen er udstyret med moderne dynamisk positioneringsteknologi, som gør skibet i stand til automatisk at fastholde sin position ved hjælp af hovedpropel og thrustere i forbindelse med lastning af råolie fra offshore produktionsenheder gennem det særlige lastningssystem placeret i skibets forstavn, hvorefter skibet kan transportere olien i land.

Søsterskibet Dan Cisne blev leveret fra værftet i september 2011.

Sabià (på dansk drossel) er Brasiliens national fugl og Cisne (på dansk knopsvane) er Danmarks nationalfugl.

Ud over rederiets tre shuttletankskibe - Dan Eagle, Dan Cisne og Dan Sabia - omfatter Lauritzen Offshores flåde af DP-skibe også hotel- og servicefartøjet Dan Swift. Alle fire enheder er beskæftiget i brasiliansk farvand på længerevarende kontrakter til selskaber i Petrobras gruppen.

Lauritzen Offshores DP-skibe er alle registreret iDIS og bemandingen udgøres primært af danske officerer, der har gennemgået et omfattende J. Lauritzen uddannelsesprogram i operation af DP2 tankskibe.
