Nye regler for klassifikationsselskaber

Nye fælles internationale regler for klassifikationsselskaberne - der syner skibe rundt om i verden - er på vej. Det tyder alt på efter seneste møde i IMO’s underkomité, der arbejder med flagstatsimplementering.

Reglerne skal samles i den såkaldte ’kode for anerkendte organisationer’, som omhandler de virksomheder, der foretager syn på skibe, når de udføres på flagstaternes vegne.

Koden vil fastlægge en række krav til, hvad klassifikationsselskaberne skal opfylde, hvis de skal anerkendes til at udføre syn på skibe.

Derudover var der ved mødet fokus på de obligatoriske regler for medlemsstaternes opfyldelse af deres forpligtelser efter de internationale maritime konventioner.

Endelig diskuterede medlemslandene procedurer for havnestatskontrol, ulykkesopklaring og standardisering af syn på skibe.
