Norsk nej til bygning af det længste skib

Et storstilet norsk milliard-projekt med bygning af verdens længste skib, bliver alligevel ikke til noget. Det norske fiskeridirektorat har afvist ansøgningen fra selskabet Pure Atlantic med den begrundelse, at projektet ikke er innovativt nok.

Skibet skulle have en længde på 521 meter og en bredde på 90 meter og rumme verdens største flydende produktion af laks med en kapacitet på 50.000 tons årligt. Prisen for hele herligheden: 2,6 mia. kr.

Energibehovet på skibet skulle dækkes af påmonterede vindmøller og laksene skulle opdrættes i otte adskilte tanke, mens skibet gled gennem vandet med 1-2 knob for at sikre frisk vand til opdrætten.

Men det var ifølge det norske fiskeridirektorat altså ikke et projekt, der bidrager med betydelig innovation til til det norske fiskerierhverv.
