Nordsøboring fandt hverken olie eller gas

Mærsk Olie og Gas A/S har som operatør for DUC-selskaberne i eneretsbevillingen af 8. juli 1962 boret efterforskningsboringen Bo-4X i den vestlige del af Nordsøen. Der blev ikke fundet olie eller gas i boringen, som nu er lukket.

Bo-4X blev boret som en lodret boring, hvor målet var Hidra kalk i Øvre Kridt, og boringen sluttede i Nedre Kridt lersten i en dybde af 2337 meter under havets overflade. Der blev taget borekerner og foretaget omfattende målinger.

Borearbejdet i Bo-4X blev påbegyndt den 5. september 2013 med boreplatformen ENSCO 72 på positionen 55° 46’ 59" N; 04° 33' 20" Ø, hvor vanddybden er 44 meter.

Boringen er lukket permanent.

DUC ejes af:

Shell Olie og Gasudvinding Danmark med 36,8 procent, A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S og Mærsk Olie og Gas A/S (Bevillingshavere) med 31,2 procent, Chevron Denmark, med 12,0 procent samt Nordsøfonden, der har de sidste 20,0 procent.
