Maersk Drilling vinder kontrakt i Malaysia

Maersk Drilling har sikret sig en kontrakt med Shell om boring af fire brønde i Malaysia i Gumusut-Kakap projektet ud for Malaysia. Kontrakten, der har en værdi på 34 mio. dollar, skal efter planen starte i december i år med en varighed på 150 dage.

Kontrakten indeholder optioner for yderligere boringer af fem brønde, og konktraktsummen er inklusiv betaling for mobilisering af skibet.

“Vi er glade for at kunne bekræfte, at Maersk Viking returnerer til Shell Malaysia for arbejde på Gumusut-Kakap projektet. På den måde er vi i stand til at bygge videre på det fantastiske samarbejde, som riggens højt specialiserede besætning har etablerede i løbet af det nuværende arbejde med Brunei Shell Petroleum,” siger Morten Kelstrup, der er COO i Maersk Drilling. Maersk Viking er et højt specialiseret ultra-deepwater boreskib, der blev leveret til det danske selskab i 2013.
