Maersk Broker Hellas appoints new Head
SHIPPING SERVICE: Having since 2006 successfully developed and expanded the bulk chartering activities of Maersk Broker (UK) Ltd., Managing Director Jonathan Bond will during May 2011 take the helm of the Maersk Broker Hellas office in Athens.
The Greek shipping market is of utmost importance to the global activities of Maersk Broker. The Hellas office, established in 2001, currently employs some 15 brokers and staff covering container vessel chartering, dry cargo chartering, and tanker chartering as well as newbuilding business, respectively sale & purchase, related to the same tonnage segments.
JonathanBond will head up expansion of the current activities with recruitment of additional senior brokers from the Greek market high up on his agenda.
As from mid May the new Managing Director responsible for the leadership of Maersk Broker (UK) Ltd. -
which has been business active within dry cargo chartering in the London market since 1951 - will be Ole Bjorn Kraft. Having started his shipping career with Maersk in 1995, he has after the last seven years in Asia accumulated extensive experience within dry bulk chartering as well as sale & purchase in relation to both the European and Asian markets.
Under his leadership Maersk Broker (UK) remains responsible for continued business development and coverage of the European and Scandinavian dry cargo markets.
Currently the office employs around 15 brokers and staff, and will remain very active in the market to attract additional experienced dry cargo brokers to ensure further growth and possibly venturing into additional business segments such as project business / sale & purchase.
