Klassifikations-gigant udvider

Et af verdens førende klassifikationsselskaber, japanske ClassNK, udvider og åbner kontorer i Izmir og Mersin i Tyrket.

Baggrunden for udvidelsen er et ønske fra selskabet om at øge effektiviteten af ClassNK kontrol og undersøgelsesarbejde på skibe langs den sydvestlige del af Tyrkiet, oplyser selskabet.

ClassNK er stiftet i 1899 og er blandt verdens største klassifikationsselskaber. Det blev i 2012 det første af sin art i verden til at have en samlet tonnage på mere end 200 mio. BRT i sit klassifikationsregister.

Selskabet har i dag klasset 9.236 skibe – 245 mio. BRT – svarende til mere end 20% af verdens handelsflåde.
