Dong etablerer kontor i Taiwan

Dong Energy etablerer et kontor i Taiwan for at undersøge mulighederne inden for vindenergi i Stillehavsregionen. Der er et stort potentiale inden for offshore vind, mener selskabet, der udover Taiwan også mener, der er muligheder i Kina, Japan og Korea.

”Taiwan har en ambitiøs strategi inden for bæredygtighed, og site-forholdene er meget lig dem, vi kender fra Vesteuropa. Lige nu har vi mulighed for at være ”early mover” – ligesom vi har været det i USA. Det er stadig meget tidligt i forløbet, så vi er en smule forsigtige med hensyn til at sætte et tidspunkt på, men vi vil sandsynligvise se projekter blive udført mellem 2020 og 2025”, siger Martin Neubert, Chief Strategy Officer hos Dong Energy Wind Power.

Dong Energy er ikke det eneste danske selskab inden for vindenergi, som har fået øje på Taiwan. Således er også A2Sea gået ind på det taiwanesiske marked og fik sidste år den første kontrakt på installationer i forbindelse med det taiwanesiske havmølleprojekt Formosa 1.
