DONG Energy vil opstille nye gigantmøller

DONG planlægger at opstille gigantiske 6-8 megawatt vindmøller ud for den Walney Island i Det Irske Hav. Det sker i forbindelse med en kommende udbygning af havmølleparken. Den britiske regering godkendte fredag planen.

"Walney Extension Havmøllepark forventes at have en samlet kapacitet på op til 660 megawatt, hvilket vil gøre det muligt at forsyne en halv million britiske hustande med strøm. Denne tilladelse baner nu vejen for, at vi senere kan tage endelig investeringsbeslutning på projektet”, siger Benj Sykes, der er DONG Energy Wind Powers UK Country Manager.

Projektet, der ligger 19 km fra den nærmeste kystlinje, har gode vindressourcer, men også udfordrende jordbundsforhold. DONG Energy forventer at anvende 6-8 megawatt vindmøller til Walney Extension Havmøllepark.
