Bølgeenergianlæg forlader Hanstholm

Bølgeenergianlægget Wave Star har forladt Hanstholm Havn for at blive transporteret til Grenaa, hvor anlægget skal hugges op. På trods af EU-finansiering har firmaet bag været nødsaget til at neddrosle aktiviteterne.

”Maskinen i Hanstholm skrottes. Man kan sige, at den har tjent sit formål med at bevise, at man kan producere energi fra bølgerne. Den kunne stå i mange år i vandet endnu uden at tage skade, men vi kan ikke bruge flere penge på den nu”, siger Laurent Marquis, adm. direktør for Wave Star.

Wave Star fik cirka 20 millioner euro fra EU-programmet Horizon 2020, men det krævede også en stor egenfinansiering, og det er ikke lykkedes Wave Star at rejse nok kapital til at kunne få det store beløb fra EU udbetalt.

Wave Star har i en periode været ejet af brødrene Clausen, der står bag Danfoss, men nu er bølgeenergianlægget altså ankommet til Grenaa, hvor det hugges op.
