2500 fragtskibe skal bygges i Indonesien

Talsmanden for Indonesiens ministerium for handel og industri, Kadin, meddelte i sidste uge, at den store østat planlagde at kontrahere 2.500 "short sea" fartøjer for at forbedre landets infrastruktur. Værdien af ordrerne ville løbe op i en pris på omkring 28 milliarder kroner.

Indonesien satser at på at etablere et samarbejde med Kinesikke værfter om tankskibe, LNGskibe og andre større nybygninger i de kommende år.

Regeringen håber og ønsker, at kinesiske virksomheder vil medvirke til opbygningen af den indonesiske handelsflåde ved at investere i oprettelsen af skibsværfter i Indonesien.

Lokale rapporter fortæller, at skibene bliver på mellem 3.000 og 5.000 tons dødvægt.
