Søfartsservice i Aalborg vender tilbage

Fra årsskiftet genopstår Aalborg- og Nørresundby Søfartsservice med en velfærdstjeneste der kan servicere søfolkene om bord på de udenlandske skibe der anløber den nordjyske havn.

”Søfolkene bliver glade for, at det her kommer op at stå igen”, siger lederen af Aalborg Sømandshjem Bo Larsen, til DR P4 Nordjylland.

Han har de sidste fire måneder kæmpet for at få ydelsen tilbage, efter Aalborg Kommune trak tilskuddet til tjenesten.

Servicen er målrettet udenlandske søfolk fra eksempelvis Rusland og Filippinerne, der blandt andet bliver hjulpet med kontakt til familien via telefon eller internet, adgang til lokale aviser, men også sprogudfordringer, hvis de har behov for en tur til lægen.

Godt 2000 skibe anløber hvert år Aalborg Havn.
