Skrubber og ålekvaber på vej tilbage

De større fisk er så småt på vej til de danske farvande. Fritidsfiskeer fanger tre-fire gange så mange ålekvabber som for fire år siden. Skrubber og ålekvabber optræder i dag i stort tal, hvorimod antallet af sild og hummer er i tilbagegang.

"Det er positivt. Skrubben og ålekvabben er de mest tolerante i vore farvande, og de første arter, der vender tilbage. Vi ser i hver fald en lille fremgang i specielt Kattegat, og det kan have noget at gøre med fredning af ålen, vurderer Louise Kristensen fra DTU Aqua, der står bag en ny rapport, der sammenligner fritidsfiskeres fangster i de seneste 10 år.

Rapporten bygger på fangst i garn og ruser sat af over 100 nøglefiskere, der har registreret antallet af fangede fisk i perioden 2011 til 2013. Tallene har DTU Aqua sammenlignet med to tilsvarende perioder siden 2004.

”Mængden af kvælstof i vandet er reduceret siden 90´erne, og det kan være grunden til at fiskebestandene nu langsomt er i bedring”, siger Louise Kristensen.
