Skibsfart skaber 590.000 jobs i Europa

En ny undersøgelse udført af Oxford Economics for den europæiske skibsrederforening ECSA viser, at europæiske rederier i dag kontrollerer 40 procent af verdensflåden og yder et samlet direkte bidrag på 56 milliarder euro til det europæiske GDP.

Undersøgelsen - The economic value of the EU shipping industry - der også inkluderer Norge, viser at norsk og tysk skibsfart er de største nominelle bidragsydere. Måles der derimod på andel af de enkelte landes GDP kommer dansk skibsfart ind på en tredjeplads med 5,6 procent, kun overgået af Norge med 6,8 procent og Grækenland med 6,4 procent.

Den 70 sider store undersøgelse tillægger tonnagebeskatningen afgørende betydning for skibsfartens succes. Uden denne ville GDP-bidraget ifølge undersøgelsen kun have været halvt så stort.
