Rederierne tilfredse med skatteudspil

Rederierne ser ud til at slippe fra skattereformen med en beskeden ekstraregning på fem millioner kroner, udløst af en højere tonnagebeskatning. Regeringen har valgt at se bort fra Skattekommissions forslag om, at hæve beskatningen af danske søfolk og beskære momsfritagelsen for erhvervslivets persontransport.

"Regeringen skal jo finansiere reformen, og vi vil gerne bidrage. Tonnagebeskatningen er en afgift, man betaler, og det er i orden. Mens det andet forslag ville have betydet, at den søfarende blev mere end 10 procent dyrere, og det ville tilskynde rederierne til at flage ud eller ansætte udenlandske søfolk", siger vicedirektør Jan Fritz Hansen, Danmarks Rederiforening, til RB-Børsen.

Rederiforeningen har oplevet stor forståelse blandt politikerne for de argumenter, som foreningen har fremført sammen med søfolkenes fagforeninger.

"Vi har advaret mod, at det ville få mange følgevirkninger at ændre konkurrencekraften, og det var ikke meningen med skattereformen. Det ville være grotesk at beskatte søfolk, for det er noget af det nemmeste at flytte", siger Jan Fritz Hansen.

Rederforeningen anslår, at tonnagebeskatningen i dag løber op i 100 - 200 millioner kroner om året.

"At vi skal betale lidt mere af vores overskud i skat kan vi leve med. Det er meget sobert", siger Jan Fritz Hansen.
