Rambøll vinder kontrakt om havneprojekt

Rambøll har vundet en kontrakt om miljøberegninger og planlægning i forbindelse med bygningen af en ny havn ved Chittagong i Bangladesh. Kontrakten har en værdi af 1,5 mio. euro og blev vundet i en udbudsproces, hvor 28 virksomheder deltog.

Projektet omfatter en lang række miljømæssige, trafikale og økonomiske beregninger, samt drifts- og planlægningsdesign af både kaj og moler og havnens placering er en af projektets største udfordringer:

”Eftersom området oprindeligt er en flodslette, er forekomsten af sediment stor. Det betyder, at en stor del af vores undersøgelser og beregninger også skal omfatte en detaljeret analyse af kysthydraulikken - herunder sediment, som ledes op i floddeltaet og Feni-Mirasari floden, ” siger Ralph Bjørndal, projektdirektør i Rambølls internationale transportdivision.

Området rammes desuden ofte af hårdt vejr, hvor specielt cykloner udgør en trussel i sommermånederne. ”Det stiller blandt andet store krav til infrastrukturen og betyder, at havn og marinestrukturer skal designes til at kunne forhindre oversvømmelser og modstå alvorlige vejrskader,” siger Ralph Bjørndal.
