North Sea platform temporarily demanned
OFFSHORE: DONG Energy temporarily shut down production from the Siri platform in the Danish North Sea and to transfeedr all employees to shore. The transferring of employees was due to gale warning and consequently high waves.
The gale hit the platform the night between Monday 12 September and the following day. All employees on the platform was taken to Esbjerg on the Danish west coast during Monday evening 12 September.
Supplementary safety precautions in connection with cracks in the platforms subsea structure discovered in 2009 is the cause for the temporary stop of production and the de-manning. The cracks have led to a significant repair work being performed at present
