North Atlantic Maritime Cluster Alliance
On 19-20 November Norway, Greenland, Canada, Faroe Islands, Denmark and Iceland will be assembled at a meeting in Copenhagen. The aim is to strengthen the existing ties between the nations and formally to become the North Atlantic Maritime Cluster Alliance.
The Danish Maritime member organization European Maritime Development Center will host the event.
"The foundation of the North Atlantic Maritime Cluster is an expression of the countries’ will to cooperate on the development of the maritime sector", says Steen Sabinsky, director of the European Maritime Development Center.
"The North Atlantic Maritime Cluster will be a platform where members have the opportunity to develop their maritime business as a result of innovation and knowledge shared across national borders. The fact that the world's business center quietly but surely is moving from west to east, makes the Nordic countries face some very concrete and new challenges. Experience shows that these challenges require that we work together on how we can promote the maritime sector's competitiveness", says Steen Sabinsky.
Sabisnky states that on a basis of cultural and business-wise similarities, obstacles will be identified and solutions found to create the best possible future environment for the maritime companies.
