New multipurpose ship to Combi Lift
SHIPPING: The heavy lift shipping company Combi Lift in Korsor will be receiving a new multipurpose ship, Combi Dock lll next week. As the name implies, the ship is the third in a series of four multipurpose ships, which the Combi Dock Group has ordered from Lloyd Werft.
The Combi Dock type is a multipurpose ship of app. 11.000 DWT with a middle deck and three electro hydraulic cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 350 MT in a single lift and up to 700 MT in a combined.
Like the sister ships, Combi Dock l and Blue Giant (ex. Combi Dock ll), Combi dock lll can both float and roll cargo of up to 5000 MT, depending on the dimensions of each piece.
The ship is owned by Dockship lll ApS, a company in the Combi Dock Group, which is a joint venture between Harren & Partner, Bremen and J. Poulsen Shipping A/S, Korsor. The ship is occupied on a prolonged time charter to K/S Combi Lift Korsor, where it forms part of the firm's existing fleet of heavy lift vessels.
Lloyd Werft delivers Combi Dock lll on the 17th of February 2009, and the maiden voyage will be from Europe via Southeast Asia to Vest Africa.
The fourth and so far last of the sister ships is expected delivered at the end of 2009.
