Navnet er på plads, men tilladelser mangler

Det planlagte joint-venture mellem de tre største japanske containerrederier, NYK, MOL og K-Line har nu fået et navn: Ocean Network Express, men selskaberne bag mangler fortsat en godkendelse fra de amerikanske myndigheder, der ser samarbejdet som en fusion.

Det nye joint-ventures operationelle hovedsæde skal ligge i Singapore, mens holdingselskabet bliver placeret i Japan. Desuden vil Ocean Network Express (ONE) få regionale kontorer i Hong Kong, London, Richmond i USA og i Sao Paulo i Brasilien.

Samarbejdet, der blev annonceret i oktober i fjor, vil også omfatte terminaldriften over hele verden med undtagelse af Japan. ONE vil få en flådekapacitet på 1,4 mio. TEU og vil dermed blive verdens 6. største operatør.

Selskaberne bag joint-venture´et holder fortsat fast i, at startdatoen bliver 1. april næste år. Men ONE er stødt ind i problemer med de amerikanske myndigheder. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) afviste selskabernes ansøgning med den begrundelse, at det ikke var inden for deres jurisdiktion at godkende et samarbejde, der i realiteten er en fusion. Ansøgningen skal derfor nu behandles af det amerikanske justitsministerium.

K Line og MOL vil sidde med hver 31 pct. af ejerandelen i ONE, mens NYK Line vil sidde på de resterende 38 pct. Efter planen vil joint-venture selskabet bliver etableret 1. juli i år.
