Marco Polo på værft i Gdansk

TT-Lines færge Marco Polo, der af flere omgange stødte på grund ud for Karlshamn i Sverige, med et større olieudslip til følge, er nu bugseret til et værft i Gdansk, hvor den vil gennemgå en større reparation.

Skibe fra den svenske kystvagt eskorterede slæbet til den svenske økonomiske zones ydergrænse, hvor polske skibe overtog eskorten det sidste stykke til Gdansk.

Den svenske kystvagt har nu afsluttet operationen, der har været den største i nyere tid. Oprydningen på land fortsætter uændret.

De samlede omkostninger forbundet med olieudslippet er endnu ikke opgjort, og de svenske myndigheder har heller ikke taget stilling til, om der skal rejses erstatningskrav mod rederiet.

Det vides ikke hvornår Marco Polo kan sættes i drift igen, of om det bliver på den samme rute.
