MAN Diesel let 550 workers go

Engine manufacturing company MAN Diesel has laid off more than half of its 1,000 employees in Frederikshavn, after management at the German manufacturer indicated it was moving production from the northern Jutland city to Germany

The average annual production at the company has been around 200 engines per year. But this year there were 116 orders and only 53 are on the books for next year, meaning more layoffs could be on the way.

The workers will be out of a job from 3 September.
