Maersk Line hæver sit CO2-mål markant

Maersk Line har allerede nu nået sit mål om, at reducere rederiets CO2-udslip med 25 procent inden 2020. Maersk Line hæver nu ambitionerne, og går efter en reduktion på 40 procent i CO2-udslippet inden 2020.

"Vi er stolte over at have nået målet 8 år før tid. Det bekræfter at vi er på rette spor. For at holde tempoet hæver vi nu målet til en reduktion på 40 procent inden 2020", siger Morten Engelstoft, Chief Operating Officer i Maersk Line.

Reduktionen måles i forhold til det CO2-udslip rederiet stod for i 2007.

"Maersk Lines fokus på energieffektivitet har gjort rederiet betydeligt mere konkurrencedygtig. Ved at reducere vores CO2-udslip sænker vi også kundernes CO2-udslip, og hjælper dem med at opfylde deres egne CO2-mål", siger Engelstoft.

Maersk Line skriver i en meddelelse, at rederiet har nået sit reduktionsmål gennem en kombination af operationel effektivitet, ruteoptimering, slow steaming og teknisk innovation.

”Vi vil nå vores nye mål via en fortsættelse af disse bestræbelser", siger Engelstoft.
