Kystfiskeriet skal udvikles - ikke afvikles

Kystfiskeriet er på mange måder både bæredygtigt og skånsomt fiskeri, og så giver det os fisk af høj kvalitet fanget nær kysten, liv på kajen og arbejdspladser i yderområderne. Sådan skulle det meget gerne fortsætte i fremtiden, skriver fødevareminister Mette Gjerskov i Fiskerbladet.

”Dansk kystfiskeri står på ingen måde til en afvikling. Vi skal tænke nyt, og vi skal udvikle, så vi kan fortsætte med en rig kystkultur i Danmark”, det skriver fødevareminister Mette Gjerskov i et indlæg i december udgaven af Fiskerbladet, der netop er sendt på gaden og lagt på internettet i dag.

”Ligesom i dansk landbrug skal der også i fiskeriet være plads til både de store og de små. Derfor vil jeg arbejde for, at vi fastholder og skaber arbejdspladser for kystfiskere rundt omkring langs de danske kyster og bevarer et alsidigt fiskeri med både store og små fartøjer”, skriver fødevareministeren.
